JennAir and Cosentino have launched a Dekton panel collection for select JennAir refrigeration columns and wine columns, giving designers and homeowners a stone-look option for integrated appliance fronts.
The companies announced the collection Sept. 30 in a joint release. The launch includes five Dekton finishes: Albarium, Grafite, Laurent, Rem and Trance.
What the Panels Change
Integrated refrigeration usually depends on wood, painted cabinetry or metal panel treatments to hide or coordinate appliance fronts. The new Dekton collection extends that approach to ultra-compact stone surfaces, a look more commonly associated with countertops, waterfall edges and full-height backsplashes.
Cosentino said Dekton can be produced in a slim format suitable for appliance-panel use, including the hinge demands that come with column refrigeration. The companies are positioning the collection as a way for refrigerators and wine columns to recede into a broader architectural surface rather than read as separate appliances.
Five Finishes
The initial finish palette includes a matte white surface, black-and-gray limestone-inspired tones, a dark brown background with gold veining, a white marble-inspired finish and a veiled blue-toned composition. The range is aimed at the luxury kitchen market, where panel-ready refrigeration has become a key design feature.
For appliance retailers and kitchen dealers, the launch adds another specification detail to the sale of built-in columns: the refrigerator purchase may now be tied more directly to surfacing decisions, fabrication timing and designer coordination.
What Remains to Check
Consumers considering the panels should confirm compatibility with the exact JennAir column model, installation requirements and lead times before ordering. Appliance-panel projects can require coordination among the appliance dealer, cabinet installer and surface fabricator.
