KitchenAid has expanded its KitchenAid Go cordless countertop appliance system with two new food-prep products: a cordless grater, slicer and shredder, and a handheld vacuum sealer starter pack.
The additions, announced Sept. 29, are built around the same interchangeable rechargeable battery used across the KitchenAid Go line, according to a KitchenAid release. The products are available in Black Matte and Porcelain White through KitchenAid.com.
Prices and SKUs
The KitchenAid Go Grater, Slicer, Shredder is listed at $119.99 without a battery under SKU KGSLR00 and $149.99 with a battery under SKU KGSLR01. It includes three blade cylinders for grating, slicing and shredding, and KitchenAid says the unit can process ingredients directly into a bowl or serving dish.
The KitchenAid Go Handheld Vacuum Sealer Starter Pack is listed at $89.99 without a battery under SKU KVSHR50 and $179.99 with a battery under SKU KVSHR01. The sealer is designed for proteins, leftovers, pantry staples, fresh produce and freezer storage.
Battery Platform Is the Point
The new products are less about replacing full-size countertop appliances than extending a small-appliance battery platform. KitchenAid says the 12v MAX battery can power the grater, slicer and shredder for up to 48 minutes and the vacuum sealer for up to 268 minutes, depending on use.
For retailers, the platform model creates a clear attachment opportunity: consumers who already own a battery-equipped KitchenAid Go product can buy lower-priced tool-only versions, while first-time buyers may start with a battery bundle.
What Shoppers Should Check
Buyers should confirm whether the package includes a battery. The gap between tool-only and battery-included pricing is central to the value calculation, especially for households that do not already own a KitchenAid Go battery and charger.
