LG Electronics expanded its Television Academy partnership for the 78th Emmy Awards season to include LG SIGNATURE appliances, putting premium kitchen and laundry products alongside its televisions in one of the company’s highest-profile U.S. brand campaigns of the year.
The appliances were not incidental set dressing. LG created a SIGNATURE influencer lounge near arrivals at the Peacock Theater, using the awards event to showcase its Tailored Collection and SIGNATURE Steam Closet while creators produced content around the red-carpet event.
Premium Appliances Move Out of the Showroom
Luxury appliance marketing has traditionally leaned heavily on kitchen design, builder relationships, specialty dealers and showrooms. The Emmy activation moves the category into entertainment marketing, where the product is being associated with fashion, television and celebrity culture rather than demonstrated primarily through specifications.
LG’s U.S. announcement says its latest SIGNATURE portfolio is organized into Iconic, Seamless and Tailored collections. The Emmy campaign specifically highlighted the Tailored Collection and the company’s Steam Closet garment-care appliance.
The Partnership Now Connects TVs, Appliances and Content
The campaign extends beyond the red carpet. LG is using webOS and LG Channels to promote Emmy-winning and nominated programming, while its Streaming Week promotion runs from Sept. 14 through Oct. 18 with offers tied to streaming, gaming and entertainment applications.
That combination illustrates how a company with both appliance and television businesses can market the home as a single experience. A premium refrigerator or garment-care cabinet does not technically depend on an LG television, but the company can place all of them inside one design and entertainment story.
The Retail Question Is Whether Attention Reaches the Showroom
For appliance dealers, celebrity-event exposure is useful only if it creates product recognition that survives the trip from a red-carpet post to a showroom visit. The strongest retail opportunity is likely in the premium segment, where design, finish, brand identity and coordinated kitchen or laundry suites carry more weight in the buying decision.
The partnership also shows how appliance brands are competing for attention outside traditional appliance media. As premium models become harder to distinguish on a specification sheet alone, manufacturers have more incentive to sell an identity around the product — and to meet potential buyers in entertainment, design and lifestyle channels before they begin actively shopping.
The Emmys Activation Is a Marketing Story, Not a Product Launch
The partnership does not itself establish new appliance performance claims, pricing or broad retail availability. Its importance is strategic: LG is using its U.S. appliance business and television business together, and it is positioning SIGNATURE as a lifestyle brand in places where consumers do not normally encounter a refrigerator, oven or garment-care appliance.
